Step 4. Make Your Room/Area Empty
Shift your room furniture and home appliances to another room. Remove wall and door curtains, outlet covers, pictures, wall hanging, and other home decors.

Step 7. Mix Up Joint Compound Enough To Roll

You have to add a little water to it, to get it to the right consistency. Now the question that will be coming into your mind is, what is the right consistency?
What is the right consistency?
Well, it all depends on the design you are going to put on your wall.
If you want a very detailed design, then the consistency of the joint compound should be heavier like peanut butter and if you want a less defined pattern on your wall then you will want something a little lighter like a pancake batter.
Remember the mud mixture should be thin enough to roll but not dripping off the roller. So according to your requirement see what works best for you.
Step 8. Roll Out The Wall Texture
Hope you got the right consistency of joint compound, which is called texture material. Take a regular paint roller it’s a half-inch nap. The nap means the thickness of the roller, and we want at least a half-inch nap roller.
Fill a paint tray with the right consistency of joint compound or mud mixture. Dip the regular roller into the mud mixture, roll it out, and then roll the mud over the piece of cardboard to test the consistency before you roll it onto the wall.
Well after testing the right consistency of joint compound or mud mixture, you can apply the mud-loaded regular roller on the wall, and by rolling the mud-loaded regular roller on the drywall, you could get the texture which is shown below.

Case 1. Roll the (Serengeti) texture roller over the textured pattern which is created by the regular roller
Case 2. Roll the (Serengeti) texture roller over the smooth/plain surface which is created by the trowel

Let’s see each case one by one,
Case 1. Roll the (Serengeti) texture roller over the textured pattern which is created by the regular roller.
By rolling the mud loaded regular roller on the drywall you get the surface which is as shown in the below image
Now take the Serengeti texture roller [Remember, now this is the textured roller, not the regular roller], these rollers have the design cut in them.
You have to dampen the Serengeti texture roller lightly first and then squeeze it before use.
Now it’s time to roll the Serengeti texture roller over the textured pattern created by the regular roller. So you roll the Serengeti texture roller, up to down from the left-hand corner.
Remember when you roll the Serengeti texture roller, up to down from the left-hand corner then do not repeat this patch again, down to up from the left-hand corner.
Now put the roller on the upside just slightly overlap the first patch which is shown in the below image and roll the roller in a downward direction. Once you complete the patch do not repeat the patch again.
In this way, you can complete wall texturing here and you will get the final result as shown in the below image.
Look at this pattern, when you will finish your work you will get the above result and the above pattern is called the Serengeti.
As we saw in the above case, we rolled the (Serengeti) texture roller over the pattern which was created by the regular roller.

Case 2. Roll the Serengeti texture roller over the smooth or plain pattern which is created by the trowel.
Now here, we will roll the Serengeti texture roller over the smooth or plain pattern, and let’s see how we get to see Serengeti.
So here you have to smooth out the texture with the help of a trowel and it looks like as shown in the below image.
Now take the Serengeti texture roller, these rollers have the design cut in them. You have to dampen the roller first before you use it. Now I am going to show you what the Serengeti looks like on a smooth surface.
Now it’s time to roll the Serengeti texture roller over the smooth/plain pattern created by the trowel. So you roll the Serengeti texture roller, up to down from the left-hand corner.
Remember when you roll the Serengeti texture roller, up to down from the left-hand corner then do not repeat this patch again, down to up from the left-hand corner.
Now put the Serengeti texture roller on the upside just slightly overlap the first patch which is shown in the below image and roll the Serengeti texture roller in a downward direction. Once you complete the patch do not repeat the patch again.
In this way, you can complete wall texturing here and you will get the final result as shown in the below image.
Look at this pattern, when you will finish your work you will get the above result and the above pattern is called the Serengeti. In this way, you can complete the entire wall and allow the mud to dry completely before further proceeding.

Step 9. Knockdown The Surface

Step 10. Apply Primer
